David C. 'Dave' Obst of Perkasie, formerly of Langhorne and Hatfield Township, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at his home. He was 67.David C. 'Dave' Obst of Perkasie, formerly of Langhorne and Hatfield Township, passed away Monday, July 17, 2017, at his home. He was 67.He was the husband of Elizabeth (Ibbetson) Obst. The couple had celebrated their 46th Wedding Anniversary on June 19, 2017.
Born in Abington, he was the son of the late Rudolph and Mary (Gallagher) Obst.
Dave was employed in the maintenance department for Solar Manufacturing and Maintenance and later Solar Atmospheres in Souderton, for about ten years.
Dave was an avid NASCAR fan. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and skydiving. He was a member of Branch Valley Fish, Game, and Forestry Association, Inc. He loved his 2008 Mustang, which was considered his baby, and his motorcycle.
Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Jen Garcia and her husband, Jason, of Perkasie; two grandchildren, Anthony and Joey; two brothers, Howard Obst and his wife, Carol, Gregory Obst; and two sisters, Abigail Taylor and her husband, David, Molly Destribats and her husband, Dennis.
His Celebration of Life was held at 11 a.m on Saturday, July 22, at the St. Peter's Tohickon United Church of Christ, 1071 Old Bethlehem Road, Perkasie, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Office of Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
