In Memoriam - Bruce Loop Jr.

Bruce K. Loop, Jr., 42, of Perkasie, PA; formerly of Hilltown Twp., PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.

 

He was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to Bruce K. Loop and Nancy L. (VanArtsdalen) Loop.

Bruce graduated from Pennridge High School, class of 1994. He worked in the building maintenance department for the former Hatfield Quality Meats in Hatfield, as a stock clerk for Landis Supermarket in Perkasie, and currently as an automotive painter and tow truck driver for Jerry's Auto Body in Souderton for the last 15 years.

 

Bruce was a member of the Branch Valley Fish, Game & Forestry Association in Perkasie.

 

He was an avid hunter and loved being in the outdoors. Bruce’s passion for hunting took him to South Carolina for alligator & wild boar, Maine for bear, New York & Pennsylvania for deer. He also enjoyed processing his own venison into jerky, sausages, and bolognas.

Bruce loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He would custom paint their bikes and wagons and purchased them unique gifts. Bruce also enjoyed listening to classic rock music.

 

He was a hard-working, dependable, generous man who had a great sense of humor and was always willing to help others.

In addition to his parents, Bruce is survived by three sisters, Irene M. Grove of Souderton, PA, Jenni R. Peterson & husband, Erik of Annandale, NJ, Stephanie D. Sanders & husband, John "Jay" of Bedminster, PA; his maternal grandmother, Helen C. VanArtsdalen of Sellersville, PA, formerly of Doylestown, PA; nine nieces & nephews – Christopher, Tyler, Joshua, Sophie, Clay, Veronica, Samantha, Grayson & Wylie and four great-nieces and great-nephews – Jaxon, Harper, Hunter, & Charlotte. To his immediate family, he was known as “Bubba.”

 

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Robert R. VanArtsdalen, his paternal grandmother, Dorothy Jean Richman, his paternal grandfather, William J. Loop, & his paternal step-grandfather, Edmund C. Richman.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 10:00 am at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania 18964.

 

Inurnment will take place at Silverdale Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery.
