2024 BVFGFA Trout Season Details

The 2024 BVFGFA Trout Season starts with the delivery of fish at Noon, or thereabouts, on April 10. There will be no fishing at all allowed from April 10 until the opening of the season.

JUNIOR MEMBERS (15 AND UNDER WITH FAMILY OR JUNIOR MEMBERSHPS) are invited to fish on April 13 from 8AM to Noon. Junior members must register upon arrival, as always, and record their catch on leaving.

Each member is limited to two fish per day. As a sporting club, please show good sportmanship by observing the rules.

The Club season for members opens on Sunday, April 14. There will be a breakfast starting at 6AM. Lines can be cast starting at 8AM. The first week of the season is restricted to members only. Guests may fish starting on April 21.

2024 Club Fishing Rules

FISHING RULES 2024 SEASON

1. Membership cards must be displayed while fishing.
2. Each person must have his or her own stringer when trout fishing.
3. General trout opener will be TBD.
4. No stocking of any kind of fish in the lake, except Fish Committee.
5. Bag limits:

2 trout per day per member, NO CATCH AND RELEASE ON TROUT.
Channel cats must be released.
1 bass per season per member - must be at least 14 inches in length.
- BASS OPENS PER PA FISH COMMISSION.
- Prefer C&R on the bass please.
50 blue gills per day per member.
15 daily snapping turtles per day per member or 30 per season per member.

6. Maximum of two lines fished by rod or hand; treble hooks are permitted.
7. No minnows of any kind are to be used for bait.
8. No digging, boating, wading, or ice fishing permitted.
9. There will be no frog taking at any time.
10. You must register all fish (trout / bass) on the HARVEST SHEET IN THE CLUBHOUSE WITH THE SIGN IN SHEET.
11. Members caught littering will lose their fishing privilege.
12. No fishing from the bridge.
